At the heart of FirstUnitedMethodistChurch is the opportunity for spiritual
renewal every Sunday morning.
9.00 a.m. Contemporary
Worship Service
The 9:00 Sunday service is a simpler, more
casual worship experience designed to appeal to a less structured congregation.
The praise team, SonRise, opens each service with
inspirational praise music to set the tone for the service. The opening songs
are generally upbeat and spiritually lifting. These songs are followed by
softer, slower tempos as the service prepares for prayer and worship. Scripture
and sermon deliver a spiritual message to the congregation and are followed by
a closing "sending out" chorus. The contemporary service replaces
much of the traditional liturgy with contemporary Christian music.
11:00 a.m. Traditional Worship Service
Gathering to worship God
through a more traditional structure, the service includes congregational
singing of hymns, special music by the Chancel Choir and accomplished soloists.
Through prayers, scripture, sermons, and sacraments, the congregation seeks to
offer praise to God and our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, with a common bond
of love and purpose. We invite you to join us as we enter the presence of God.
